Simple Design, Real Traction.

Hey, I’m Alex, a product designer who works with founders to turn rough ideas into products that actually move the numbers.

about me

For the past 10+ years, I’ve been building alongside early‑stage startups, hyper‑growth scaleups, and a few unicorns, working across product, UX, and design systems. The thread through all of it: using data, conversations, and real usage to guide what we design, not just how it looks.

I’m usually the person founders call when things feel fuzzy. Activation is stalling, users are confused, or a new product needs a clear first version. Together, we map the problem, pick the metric that matters, and ship focused iterations until the product clicks for real people.

FAQs

Things people often ask

Who is this for?

This is for founders of early-stage startups who need product design and UX support before they hire their first full-time designer. It’s also for founding designers who want extra hands so they can ship more, faster, without compromising quality.

What is a product design subscription?

A product design subscription is one simple monthly plan that gives you ongoing design support without hiring. You add work when you need it, we deliver in a steady rhythm, and you can pause or cancel anytime—so it stays flexible as your startup changes week to week. This model is commonly described as “subscribe, request, receive,” with fast delivery as the baseline expectation.

What is a “design request,” and how long does it take?

A design request is one item in your queue—anything from UI/UX work to a full feature flow or a set of screens. If a request is too big, we break it into smaller, shippable pieces on our side, and you’ll receive progress every 24–48 hours until the whole request is complete. Starter and Scaler follow the same idea, but Scaler moves faster through bigger backlogs.

What are “design updates”?

Design updates are the check-ins you get while we work so you always know what’s happening and what’s next. On Starter, updates are shared twice a week, and on Scaler they’re shared three times a week, typically with a Figma link and a short Slack message.

How does the workflow work?

You add tickets in Trello, and you can share extra context in Slack (a Loom video is great when something is easier to explain than write). We pick up the next highest-priority ticket, clarify anything missing, and if it’s too large we break it into smaller, executable tasks. The work happens in Figma, and you get updates in Slack as it progresses.

Can we add unlimited tickets?

Yes—you can add as many tickets as you want and reorder priorities anytime. We then pull from the top of the queue and focus on completing one ticket properly before moving on, so nothing gets left half-finished.

Is everything you deliver ready for engineering?

Yes—the subscription is design only, and we treat every output as something engineering should be able to pick up and build. That means clean, buildable Figma work that’s detailed enough to implement, not just high-level concepts.

Do you also do development?

Development isn’t included in the subscription, but we can support it as a separate bespoke project when needed. That can include a marketing website, a responsive web app, or a native mobile app.

Is this expensive compared to hiring?

For most startups it’s a practical middle ground: it’s less commitment than hiring and more reliable than trying to patch things together with ad-hoc freelancers. A full-time senior designer can cost at least $120,000/year before the real employment overhead, and a solid freelancer at $100/hour can quickly reach about $16,000/month if used heavily. Your Starter plan starts at $3,999 and Scaler is $4,999, which is designed to give you senior-level output while you hire, or extra capacity alongside your in-house designer when one person can’t cover everything.
